If you still see the failure after the updates Graham indicates, please also
provide the output of `fetchmail --version` and `certctl list | fgrep
'GlobalSign'`.

The former should indicate that fetchmail is checking the base system's cert
store with a line like:
  SSL default trusted certificate directory: /etc/ssl/certs

The latter should indicate that the base systems certs include the Global S=
ign
Root CA cert with a line like:
  5ad8a5d6.0      GlobalSign Root CA
