I already sent an Email to Interbase, actually Inprise, to ask for a port to FreeBSD. His reaction was kind of hopeful. Perhaps if more people cast their vote next to mine, we can turn them around. You can either go to their web-site and fill in their contact form or mail this person directly: Paul Beach PBeach@inprise.com Here is the text from his response: "Currently we do not have any plans - other than the free download of the 4.0 Port that our Partner Rios did in Japan But I am keeping a very careful eye on this O/S - and we may decide to fully support this platform at a later date - especially since yours is not the fisrt request I have received for this. Regards Paul" As an alternative you might want to check out the following databases: Altera http://www.altera.gr YARD http://www.yard.de Especially YARD looks promising, their pricing is also roughly equivalent to what SOLID used to be. If you find other options, please let me know.
