On a related note, while I didn't expect this implementation to be as fast as the ATA/100 channels on my i386 motherboard, I didn't really appreciate how glacially slow it would turn out to be: root@gopher:/root# bonnie++ -u 0:0 -d /usr/local2/ Using uid:0, gid:0.
