I recall having to reinstall Win'95 on a 486 IBM machine that locked up at random times during 5 instillation attempts. When I was about to give up somebody told me that the on-board IBM IDE controllers did funny things to drives when formatting them. The solution in this case was to put the hard drive into another machine, install the OS from there then put the drive back into the IBM computer. As far as I know that machine hasn't had any further problems. Even if your not using an IBM it can't hurt to try it at this point. -- Geoffrey Robinson grobin@accessv.com Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
