Hey, I have an ancicent box I've inherited, output of uname -a is: bash-2.04# uname -a FreeBSD dropbox.xxxx.xxxx 4.2-RELEASE FreeBSD 4.2-RELEASE #0: Mon Nov 20 13:02:55 GMT 2000 jkh@bento.FreeBSD.org:/usr/src/sys/compile/GENERIC i386 Obviously, she's got a few miles on her, and cvsup wasn't installed. I downloaded the tarball from the FreeBSD ftp server, untar'd it, and tried to do a make install, then got this ugliness: <error> gzip -cn pkg_version.1 > pkg_version.1.gz ===> Installing for pkg_install-20040802 ===> Generating temporary packing list ln: illegal option -- h usage: ln [-fisv] file1 file2 ln [-fisv] file ... directory link file1 file2 *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/sysutils/pkg_install. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/textproc/sed_inplace. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/lang/ezm3. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/net/cvsup. </error> Can someone help? Thanks in advance. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The all-new My Yahoo! - Get yours free! http://my.yahoo.com
