Just for the record, I'm having similar trouble. When I play a 128kbit/sec stereo mp3 file using mpg123 0.59k, the sound starts crackling at about 2:48 and stops about 3:11. (the start/stop time varies slightly depending on the file, but the duration of the crackling is the same) I didn't have this problem before, I think it started sometime around the time of guspnp12. My configuration is below..
