I just wanna try it out!!  This waiting is killing me.  I just hope the 
carpet holds out from my pacing on it.  Buying on eBay is very stressful.

According to the specs on the auction, what I've got coming at me is the S3 
SuperSavage/IXC16.  I'm focusing my attention on the S3 stuff for now, and 
fully intend to go with X 4.2.0 when I set things up.

As for the text mode getting screwed up, I see this very same thing on the 
Compaq Armada 7800 I'm typing this on now.  Rather than actually try and fix 
the problem I worked up a cheap hack.  I've got a little shell script that 
cycles the video mode up to something unusable, then back down to the 
default.  Doesn't always glitch, and I rarely reboot this laptop, so it 
hasn't been a big deal.  Nearly 40 days of up time without a reboot.  Would 
be closer to 60-90 days if it weren't for running make world every so often.

FreeBSD on a laptop is just too cool!
