I'm in the process of creating a network status site for my network. I'm trying to create a script in Perl to check if certain computer on my net are up or down. For example, I want it to test if www.yahoo.com is up, if it is, then return 1 or something different then if it was down. What is the best way to do this?? Any help is greatly appreciated.
