If you set MRTG up to monitor a WAN interface on the pipeline, give it up now. If the WAN connection goes down, the pipeline will use a new WAN IF when it comes back up. The best you can do, is monitor interface 1 or 2 (I forget which is the ethernet), which won't ever change.
