This took me to the installation handbook. I read the = documentation. I made an inventory of my computer. Since FreeBSD requires a primary = partition I used fdisk to try and create a primary partition but it told = me that there was already a primary partition and would not allow me to = create another. Then I used my ftp program Crystal FTP 2000 to download the = floppy disk images in binary mode. I downloaded kern.flp and = mfsroot.flp. I created the two disks using fdimage after I had formatted = them. Neither of them had any bad sectors. I changed the boot order of = my computer so that it would boot from floppy disk first and I tried to = boot from the kern.flp disk despite the fact that I had no partition = available to install FreeBSD but it did not work. I read further into = the documentation and found that the installation creates its own = partition so now what do I do to get the installation started since the = boot disks won't work ? Do I need any other directories other than the = bin and manpages directories ? Will a boot manager make this = installation easier and if so where will I get one and how will I = install it ?
