Hmm, do the built-in UDMA33/UDMA66 ATA ports are recognized and work OK?
Or are they controlled via the Promise chipset?

FWIW, the two USB ports on my ASUS P2B also report "power on failed,
IOERROR" when I boot FreeBSD.  FreeBSD is still able to find my HP 4300C
scanner connected via USB, although it reports another error message that
I can't remember off the top of my head...
