hi all

I work at a mid-sized ISP, and we've been having a problem where if mail is
queued to send to a server that isnt online (or at least, isnt accepting
mail), it sits and waits a long time (several minutes) for the mail message
to time out, all the while /var/spool/mqueue is filling up (got up to ~5000
messages this time).. is there some sort of setting i can make so sendmail
doesnt die? i've looked around about this but had no luck.. its an older
freebsd machine (this particular one is 3.4-stable) running sendmail
8.10.1. any help is mucho appreciated.. thanks
