Have you looked at the manpage for periodic.conf(5)?

As an example,

daily_show_success="NO"
daily_show_info="NO"

in /etc/periodic.conf will cut the daily messages down to only what 
periodic(8) thinks you *have* to know - likewise for weekly and monthly.
