It has slightly different config syntax. Yes, I installed bind from the ports. I noticed the ports had bind8, bind84 and bind9. I thought about going with the 9, but since I'm currently running bind 8.2.5, I decided I'm making enough changes now as it is so I went with the bind84 in ports (still an upgrade to what I had, albeit a minor one).
