Subject: New Computer Program for Teaching Spelling, Pronunciation, and
Vocabulary Provides Complete Proven Lessons for Next School Year
We are pleased to announce "MR. ISPELL", a new computer program designed
with versions for 5th and 6th grade teachers and students. The program places
emphasis on spelling, pronunciation, and vocabulary. An instructors' version
allows students to work at their own level and correct their own mistakes.
It can also be used to administer tests and track grades. An exercise version
gives students extra practice on a classroom computer and can be used for
instruction and assignments on the students' home computer.
The instructors' version will be available this summer. It includes a
complete set of lesson plans for the upcoming school year. The lessons
are drawn from more than 40 years of teaching experience. Each lesson
includes a master word list, a sentence completion exercise or crossword
exercise, matching exercise, and pretest. The lessons are available on
CD-ROM as well as in paper form.
The exercise/individual version will be available in September of 1998.
