Dear all, I am running into a memory problem when using large datasets. The limit command shows: cputime unlimited filesize unlimited datasize 524288 kbytes stacksize 65536 kbytes coredumpsize unlimited memoryuse unlimited vmemoryuse unlimited descriptors 11095 memorylocked unlimited maxproc 5547 sbsize unlimited however, /etc/login.conf shows that the default setting is "unlimited": default:\ :passwd_format=md5:\ :copyright=/etc/COPYRIGHT:\ :welcome=/etc/motd:\ :setenv=MAIL=/var/mail/$,BLOCKSIZE=K,FTP_PASSIVE_MODE=YES:\ :path=/sbin /bin /usr/sbin /usr/bin /usr/games /usr/local/ sbin /usr/local/bin /usr/X11R6/bin ~/bin:\ :nologin=/var/run/nologin:\ :cputime=unlimited:\ :datasize=unlimited:\ :stacksize=unlimited:\ :memorylocked=unlimited:\ :memoryuse=unlimited:\ :filesize=unlimited:\ :coredumpsize=unlimited:\ :openfiles=unlimited:\ :maxproc=unlimited:\ :sbsize=unlimited:\ :vmemoryuse=unlimited:\ :priority=0:\ :ignoretime@:\ :umask=022: Any suggestion on how to increase the limits? thank you very much in advance giuseppe Giuseppe Pagnoni Dept. of Psychiatry 101 Woodruff Circle Altanta, GA 30322 Tel: 404-712-9582 Fax: 404-727-3233
