Hmmm... What FreeBSD version are you using? I had assumed 4.x, because that's what I'm using. It may well be the case that the sample mbr has been moved somewhere else in the filesystem. Checking the fdisk(8) and boot0cfg(8) man pages for clues doesn't confirm that though. The mbr should be a 512 byte file generated from the assembler sources in /usr/src/sys/boot/i386/mbr Cheers, Matthew --=20 Dr Matthew J Seaman MA, D.Phil. 26 The Paddocks Savill Way PGP: http://www.infracaninophile.co.uk/pgpkey Marlow Tel: +44 1628 476614 Bucks., SL7 1TH UK --s/l3CgOIzMHHjg/5 Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQE/s1dQdtESqEQa7a0RAh2vAJoC2EfBG6v7ZM6vyEmV1Npe0Z56jACfVa91 c3g7MljqRCM2cVWPWwczF0s= =35TI -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --s/l3CgOIzMHHjg/5--
