I've heard there's an early work called tosha.  What I'd really like to 
see is a port of Paranoia III 
(http://www.mit.edu/afs/sipb/user/xiphmont/cdparanoia).  It does a 
spectactular job of correcting for all kinds of problems.  One of 
these days, I'll get a chance to test it under the Linuxulator...
