I have RoadRunner and have setup no less than three FreeBSD machines via ftp
using dhcpd.  I have never had to swap cards, however, our local (SC) RR
service may be different than yours.  

I did run into a situation where dhcpd would fail.  Is your windows machine
on the network when you try and set it up?  You will get a 0.0.0.0 address
if more than one machine requests an IP address.  Make sure your windows
machine is not on the network when you install.
