I just installed FreeBSD from source on my new laptop and in /etc/motd it says: FreeBSD 3.1-BETA (AOEU) #0 Thu Feb 11 17:27:33 EST 1999 And this is from 3.0-STABLE sources no less (CVSUP'd yesterday).
