I'm wonder how one may use a tray dock application occasionally,

No need to say anything, just assume the maintainership and
responsibility for the port, just like you did now.

Fine, but please remember that you should not stay in the way of the
port's natural selection. Only really needed ones should survive. If
the port isn't used by anyone, it should not stay as a dead weight in
our tree.
