Well, if it's a supported card:

(and others not mentioned here ... search the mailing list archives for your
card), just add

  device pcm0

into your kernel configuration file. See

  http://www.freebsd.org/handbook/kernelconfig.html

There are also the "snd0" driver. See the LINT file in the same place you
configure your kernel for more information about it.
