If you've got the sources, you can recompile reasonably portable Linux 
programs using the normal system compiler and be fine.  Otherwise, look into 
the Linux emulator, documented at:

http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/linuxemu.html

...which will let you run most Linux binaries.
