Subject: lpd in 2.2.5

Dear FreeBSDers,

Ever since I upgraded to 2.2.5, I can't print, and I used to be
able to print just fine. It seems that lpd refuses to stay on.
It does print what's in the queue as it starts up, but after that,
it messages
 barnes1 lpd[4494]: startup: duplicate spool directories: /var/sp
ool/output/lpd

Notice that it says "duplicate", but it only lists one directory.

Then, lpq says "Warning -- no daemon", because lpd does not stay
running.

I have removed all spool directories, and then put only one back,
namely /var/spool/output Same result:

Jan 16 10:47:04 barnes1 lpd[4574]: startup: duplicate spool directories: /var/sp
ool/output

Here is my /etc/printcap:
[my previous printcap used to specify a unique spool directory
name for each printer; this simpler one is no better.]

lp|Local Printer:\
	:sh:sd=/var/spool/output:\
	:lp=/dev/lpt0:\
	:if=/usr/local/libexec/if-simple:\
	:lf=/var/log/lpd
Dideoxy|Color Printer:\
	:lp=:rm=biochem:rp=Dideoxy:sd=/var/spool/output:
bcprinter|Office Printer:\
	:lp=:rm=biochem:rp=bcprinter:sd:/var/spool/output:
kodak_ds|Kodak Digital Science Printer:\
	:lp=:rm=biochem:rp=kodak_ds:sd:/usr/spool/output:

Did anyone else notice a change in lpd from FreeBSD 2.2.2 to 2.2.5?
