What exactly does that comment mean? Does it mean that a drive formatted using LBA instead of CHS won't be seen by FreeBSD? Does it mean EIDE controllers won't work in a FreeBSD box, or they will, but only if LBA mode is turned off? Is it even a valid comment anymore? I've got a Promise2300+ EIDE controller that I'd like to put in my box to replace my old 16-bit IDE and hi-speed I/O cards but I want to know how to configure it before I stick it in the box and recompile the kernel. Any info appreciated.
