Stalling ftp, email and telnet on windows:

With "windows" clients on the internal lan I reduce mtu to a smaler
value
than 1500 in /etc/ppp/ppp.conf

ppp has a switch: -nat

It does nat without need of the natd

Im talking of ppp not pppd.
