well, I think that you are using the GUI version of
cvsup, it's much easier to use the non-GUI version,
simply download the cvsup binary from 
http://people.freebsd.org/~jdp/s1g/i386-nogui/cvsup-16.1e.tgz
and after that run cvsup : cvsup -g -L 2
<location_of_cvsup_configuration_file>.
