This only happens in multi-user mode, on a Fujitsu Siemens C6175. BIOS revision 1.31 (latest). On a 5.2.1 system, it worked correctly. FreeBSD 5.3-BETA2 #0: Fri Aug 27 18:32:00 CEST 2004 =20 #zzz (when using APM instead of ACPI this gives a "ioctl(APMIO_SUSPEND): invalid argument" message) I then get these kernel messages: (N,x,y,z vary) --- usb0: interrupt while not operating ignored ATAPI_RESET time=3D320us ad0: WARNING - WRITE_DMA interrupt was seen but timeout fired LBA=3DN ad0: WARNING - WRITE_DMA interrupt was seen but timeout fired LBA=3DN slab at 0xc1xxxxxx, freei 12 =3D 0 panic: Duplicate free item 0xc1yyyyyy from zone 0xc1zzzzzz (g_bio) [thread 100024] Stopped at kdb_enter+0x30: leave db> panic Dumping 191MB Dump failed writing header (5) --- The "dump failed" message is strange, as 191MB should fit on a 384MB swap partition. Could this be usb-related? usbd was still running when I suspended the laptop. I also get some error messages from the AML compiler when trying to compile the AML code from acpidump -d dmesg: Copyright (c) 1992-2004 The FreeBSD Project.
