These appear when starting syslog from rc.conf or by hand = with -d. I CVSup'ed last night and just finished a make world, including new = kernel. I've got some follow up to my problem = with syslogd=20 running at 95% CPU.  I've got log entries in /var/log/messages that = contain=20 crap, as in:
 
Mar 31 10:14:22 basil /kernel:=20 l09asfd09af3434ng0a0934j3409saa0sg09asf043r3q4l009<etc>
 
However, that isn't a real good = representation of=20 the message as it appears to be the entire ASCII set, with things I = cannot=20 reporduce on the keyboard.  These appear when starting syslog from = rc.conf=20 or by hand with -d.
 
I CVSup'ed last night and just finished = a make=20 world, including new kernel.  Same status.
