I have no actual help for this, but wish to add I had almost the same
exact error when installing AfterStep over X3.3, and a couple other
programs I can't recall right now. <I've been doing this for 4 days
straightm, and still having problems, so I'm a little fuzzy on
details..> Starting to look like a pattern...
