Two things I remember off the top of my head... 1) You want a line similar to this in your i810 section of the XF86Config file: Options "NoDDC" 2) When you say the resolution is too high and you only see a portion of the desktop, try this: In the vga (or whatever) driver section of the config file, only list one resolution option. If you list 1024x768 and 800x600, but your monitor only does the 800x600, you get a "virtual" 1024x768 desktop that you have to scroll around to see everything. If you do not figure this out before I get a chance, I could send you my config file to look at. good luck.
