Here I attach a tarball with the simple test written by Andrew Tridgell (Makefile I drafted myself, original was lost, so blame me if any) which somehow proves, that we do have some problems with the consistency of telldir/seekdir behaviour in FreeBD. So, please run this tests against ZFS and whichever else you want FS and check, does the problem still exists and, maybe - how it can be solved in a better and portable way. =46rom my side I can only confirm it's still a problem on FreeBSD-STABLE on UFS2.
