I ( & presumably other dial-up-&-pay-your-own-phone-bill net users ) had a problem with the new `fetch' instead of `ncftp' conversion: I used to connect to the net, do normal interactive net stuff, (rlogins, telnet, browser, popclient etc) in various xterms, & also run cd /usr/ports make fetch to keep distfiles/ up to date, & soak up the spare bandwidth, (every moment the LEDs on the modem aren't hard on, is money wasted paying the phone company) After I'd finished the interactive stuff, I could glance at the `make fetch' window, & instantly know, from the ncftp bar display, how long till I could drop the line. With `fetch' one no longer has that valuable display. Improvement ideas welcome. Julian -- Julian H. Stacey jhs@freebsd.org http://www.freebsd.org/~jhs/
