Actually, yes..
4.8 is an 'extended support' branch..
it has bee advertised as such for a while and that is why the banks I work with 
are on 4.8 and will go to 4.11 or 4.12 if it happens as their next stop.
(there is ne on 4.4 but it has no external interface outside their own
network so they are leaving it alone "If it aint broke....")
