I just never made contact with someone that could help me understand why my email to developers@ was vanishing w/o a trace. I have yet to commit all the changes to /usr/src/release/Makefile that tie into these mods. I thought it was safe to commit what I did w/o those changes. I'm in the process of testing a possible solution to the sysinstall problem and once that's going I'll commit the Makefile mods and test putting back the tun device.
