Thanks, Stefan, I checked ncr.c by going backwards from my present version
1.103, one step at a time.  1.101 failed, I am presently using the kernel
with 1.100, so the change is from 1.100->1.101.  If you could make use of
it, I rebooted verbosely, and I would send you that if you wanted, or make
any other test you'd suggest.
