cvs apparently has problems with the symlink /home/ncvs -> /a/ncvs. I
normally have CVSROOT=/home/ncvs but for a little while I had
CVSROOT=/a/ncvs. If $CVSROOT is a different alias from when a module
was checked out, then "cvs update" doesn't notice the difference and
works; "cvs co" notices the problem and refuses to do anything; "cvs
commit" doesn't notice the problem and apparently works except it puts
bogus paths in the commit logs and commit mail.
