Had a quantum H/D spit the dummy today. My logfiles show the following with the parity error appearing many times. I couldn't boot from the failed drive but I have managed to mount it onto another drive which I booted from. I had to fsck -p all the partitions on the failed drive before mounting. I can access the files in the failed drive but I am wondering whether this drive is safe to use again.
