Yeah, depends on the circumstances. Textfiles with grep do the trick for me. That was for an ambulant mental institution that was thinking about medical dossier automated access. Back in '84 or so. A bit before the time was right. Come to think of it, the time is again wrong. We've got gigahertz machines, 32 bit going on 64 bit processors, gigabytes internal memory never mind external... That'll be some searchjob that needs inverted files today! Like the documentation for a Boeing 757 .
