I changed the "4" in nfs_server_flags="-t -n 4" to 64 and only 5 invocations are reported by 'ps', namely: This server supports multiple qmail machines in a cluster and is responsible for the mail store. There are multiple invocations of qmail running on each of the machines in the cluster. The literature (see ) supports values at least as high as 48 in Linux, so I'm wondering how to set up a sufficient number to give good throughput.
