So I use a Compaq PRESARIO 7110 (486DX4/100) with a 3C509B-TP nic (defaulted as IRQ 10, I/O 0x300). Installation type is FTP in a private network. FTP server is an AS/400 (V4R1M0) with RELEASE under : /pub/FreeBSD/3.2-RELEASE anonymous login is denied. Description of installation process : -Boot with floppies. -Skip kernel configuration -Set keymap to "French ISO (Accent)" -Set options to : FTP username qsecofr/******* Debug ON -Novice installation Use all disk (with partition table entry, machine can't boot if disk dedicated) Standard boot manager Automatic default to create slices Developper installation MD5 security No ports installation FTP URL ftp://192.168.1.10//pub/FreeBSD Use ep0 srvbsdnanssv, nantes.kisoft-services.com no gateway, no DNS (will act as gateway and DNS when up) 192.168.1.1, 255.255.255.0 Symptoms : DEBUG on vty2 says nothing particular but sends QUIT command after 1st chunk "bin.aa". So sysintall takes me back to FTP server choice. Thanks for help Eric MASSON PS: Network seems to work, as I can use FTP, TELNET... to AS/400 from a WinNT station.
