I have the problem on an intel 5520 chipset (Tylersburg). Enabling the second SATA controller, which is required to use the SATA CD, causes the storm on interrupt 19. With USB enabled it appears under vmstat as a uhio interrupt; with USB disabled it appears as an atapci1 interrupt. The CD shows up as the 3rd master. Has anyone come up with a solution? It seems way too common to be ignored for so long. Barney
