Step away from the hammer and take a look at /usr/ports/distfiles. While mapping tarballs to ports won't always be easy (perl modules in particular rarely indicate their heritage), it's a place to start. If you have any scripting skill, you're even better off. Ditto if you understand which ports depend on others and can choose the first ports to rebuild carefully. Robert Huff
