Too long mirror latency time for many of the mirrors? That's why I hit www.freebsd.org - all mirrors that are closer to me by network are outdated. (I could use one at the same distance, but with the latency I had seen (dk/se), I gave up all mirrors.) I tested all the sites - the following are the results. The dates are the next date from the CVSlog after the date on the front page of the mirror. www2.freebsd.org: today www3.freebsd.org: before 1996/11/15 www.ar.freebsd.org: before 1996/10/11 www.au.freebsd.org: today www2.au.freebsd.org: today www3.au.freebsd.org: before 1997/03/04 www.br.freebsd.org: today www2.br.freebsd.org: before 1997/03/04 www3.br.freebsd.org: before 1996/11/02 www.ca.freebsd.org: today www.cz.freebsd.org: today Danish mirror: before 1996/11/15 www.de.freebsd.org: today www.ee.freebsd.org: before 1997/03/04 www.fi.freebsd.org: before 1997/03/04 www.fr.freebsd.org: today www.ie.freebsd.org before 1997/03/04 www.it.freebsd.org doesn't exist (DNS timeout when I tried to look the name up, no matter which server I used - lacking nameserver backup?) www.jp.freebsd.org: today www.kr.freebsd.org: today www.lv.freebsd.org: today www.nl.freebsd.org: today www.pl.freebsd.org: today www.pt.freebsd.org: before 1996/11/15 www2.pt.freebsd.org: before 1997/03/04 www.ru.freebsd.org: Connection refused www2.ru.freebsd.org: before 1997/03/04 www.se.freebsd.org: before 1996/11/15 www.tw.freebsd.org: before 1996/11/15 www.uk.freebsd.org: today www.za.freebsd.org: before 1997/03/04 www.ar.freebsd.org is in either portoguese or spanish, but is not marked as such. I think we should trow out all servers that hasn't updated since '96 - everybody that has updated since has also updated after 26th of February, thus they are relatively current.
