The modem is a PCI bus type made by ZOOM ( no jumpers on the card) and am trying to get the system to recognize its existence. I've been reading through the online docks and some books but just not having much luck. From my understanding one of the dev/cuaaX items should correspond to the modem when everything is said and done. I've tried running ppp in term mode and changing the device parameter to each of the cuaaX types but wasn't able to communicate with the modem. Looked to see if I've a hardware conflict but UserConfig didn't shed a clue (looked like the modem wasn't even showing... but not knowing really what to look for it could have been missed). This is a new system with an asus a7vwoa board running an AMD 900 thunderbird (no overclock). Any Thoughts on what next? Thxs; Mark N.
