Not "about", it's _exactly_ 80x25 (initially 80x24) in text mode.
That is _the_ standard default normal regular usual textmode size.

You can use vidcontrol to set a mode different than 80x25,
like 90x43 or 132x30. You can also load a different font.
To make the setting permanent, you can configure things
via /etc/rc.conf.
