Perhaps i have missed something in the configuration or in the readme-files. Of course i forgot to do a 'cat /dev/sndstat', but i will do that as soon as i come home tonight (i'm at work now). The kernelversion i'm running is 3.0-970209-SNAP, it should work with this right?.. And my bios does not have pnp support. Should i use Sujal's pnpfix? I am doing it now. Then i tried to do a 'cat /dev/audio > test.au' it just said "/device not configured".. And then i tried the rattool it just said "/dev/dsp: no such device", i might remember wrong, but something like this it is anyway. >From my configfile: # Sound Cards controller snd0 options "SBC_IRQ=5" device sb0 at isa? port 0x220 irq 5 drq 1 vector sbintr device sbxvi0 at isa? drq 5 device sbmidi0 at isa? port 0x330 device opl0 at isa? port 0x388 conflicts >From kernellog: Jul 24 00:36:09 moon /kernel.pnp12: sb0 at 0x220 irq 5 drq 1 on isa Jul 24 00:36:09 moon /kernel.pnp12: SoundBlaster 16 4.13> at 0x220 irq 5 dma 1 Jul 24 00:36:09 moon /kernel.pnp12: sbxvi0 at 0x220 irq 5 drq 5 on isa Jul 24 00:36:09 moon /kernel.pnp12: sbxvi0 not probed due to I/O address conflict with sb0 at 0x220 Jul 24 00:36:09 moon /kernel.pnp12: sbmidi0 at 0x330 irq 5 on isa Jul 24 00:36:09 moon /kernel.pnp12: sbmidi0 not probed due to irq conflict with sb0 at 5 Jul 24 00:36:09 moon /kernel.pnp12: opl0 at 0x388 on isa Jul 24 00:36:09 moon /kernel.pnp12: Yamaha OPL3 FM> at 0x388 Jul 24 00:36:37 moon /kernel.pnp12: PCM device 0 not installed. If good sbsupport get's into freebsd i know i'm not the only one that will be very happy :-) And i'm willing to test things to get it good. I'm sorry for the lack of information right now, but it got a bit late last night and i didn't have time to test the driver more right then. Hopefully i have more information later tonight :) johan PS Isn't a namechange of the package in it's place by now? DS PPS I tried the new rattool from mice for freebsd with the sounddriver that is originally on my system, and the sound is perfect(ok almost), but not at all as clicky as the vattool gets. But the volumecontrol doesn't work on neither of the tools, suggestions?
