Definitely worth a PR or at least gather commonalities in that forum thread=
,=20
cause it happens on different releases and seemingly vanilla systems.
I don't use gnome, so can't help there.

Maybe move it over to the gnome list.

Problem with today's modular software: they start with the modules
    and never get to the software part.
