Think > fxp, think ahc, xl, rl, ata, wi, an etc. However, the lack of a current version of the management daemon makes the 3Ware card weak in terms of fault tolerance on FreeBSD - certain hardware problems can't be fixed from FreeBSD's version of the management daemon, but they can be fixed with the Linux and Windows versions. Also, the lack of support for the current firmware on the 7000 series cards makes me hesitant to use those cards with FreeBSD. I agree that the driver is a quality piece of work, but that's not much comfort when you're trying to rebuild a degraded array and the only way to do it is to install another OS.
