If the quality of work does not justify the creator tag, don't give it, or assign to the one who did the actual work. I don't see the problem here. How does the sad fact that some people submit shit prevent us from acknowledging the good work from others, which is the majority? > Worse if you do something from that intial port for a reason or another > (the repocopy ss it was was done a lot in the past) let say porta1 -> > porta2. That's right, I'd probably complain. But you're forgetting that I am rational and easy to work with. :) Example: I've originally created the `www/choqok' port; in April 2018, Tobias updated it to 1.6.0 (kf5-based) and moved the kde4 version to `www/choqok-kde4', dropping the attribution on the new port. When I've asked about it, he said "it has been kept in place in the port you created: www/chokoq-kde4. If you insist I can add it to the new one, which you did not touch in anyway too...". Guess what: I agreed and said that while I'd myself normally keep original author during the repocopy or resurrection (even in case if I have to replace almost all of their work), I also understand that it might seem weird or not very applicable, just as it was that very time. Notice how well Tobias had handled this in 2018, by his quote alone. Why can't we keep the same level of conversation and mutual respect without enforcing more and more stupid restrictions on how we porters do our work and get our fun and satisfaction? This is so upsetting! :( ./danfe
